6231 Hanix Europe claims that its new generation D series H55 mini excavators is are more comfortable to operate and offers higher performance. Built in Japan, the zero tailswing H55DR unit is said to be reliable, even in tough operating conditions and features robust construction. Compact in design the H55DR can be used inside confined areas but provides a digging radius of over 6m and a digging depth of over 4m, while it can turn in under 3m. A low centre of gravity ensures stability and the machine has a large cab with good all-round visibility, as well as vibration damping, while air-conditioning is available as an option.

The hydraulic system is load sensing, with power take-off valves allowing the use of bucket rotation devices and other equipment such as breakers. Power comes from a 1265 Kubota engines that meets Tier 3/Stage IIIA emissions regulations. An optional engine shut-off system will stop the engine if the machine is left idling for longer than five minutes, providing fuel savings of some 5%.

Easy access is claimed for maintenance and the cab features use plain glazing which is less expensive to replace and easier to maintain than the curved glazing used by rival firms. All Hanix excavators sold in the UK and Ireland are 5463 Datatag protected as standard and registered under the construction industry equipment security registration scheme (2921 CESAR).
