A loan worth US$320 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will help pay for road upgrade works in Pakistan. The funding will be directed towards safety improvements and ensuring roads are resistant to climate change in the country’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
The programme of works is called the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Roads Development Project. This will provide improvements to 900km of rural roads. The aim is to boost connectivity and transport reliability. Maintenance works will also be carried out where required.
