The US state of Ohio now looks set to benefit from a series of traffic safety improvement works. A budget of US$121 million has been set for the works.
The road safety plans are being set out by the Ohio Department of Transportation (Ohio DOT). Improvements will be carried out to traffic lights, turning lanes and pedestrian facilities. Intersections in the state have been identified as key components in the state’s network where traffic safety has to be improved due to a large number of crashes and high fatality rates.
