The project to rebuild an important road stretch has been awarded in Spain. The package of works is worth €244 million and is for a 70km section of the A4 highway. The stretch connects the towns of Ocana and Puerto Lapice and lies to the south of Spain’s capital, Madrid.
The A4 highway is an important road, forming part of Europe’s E5 route. The north-south highway connects Madrid with the north and south of the country. The stretch of the A4 to be upgraded carries around 29,000 vehicles/day. Of this, some 5,500/day of the vehicles using the route are heavy trucks.
