Road repairs and maintenance works are being prioritised in the Australian state of New South Wales NSW). A budget of US$341 million (A$500 million) has been set for the work.
The work will be funded by the NSW State Government, tackling potholes and damaged road surfaces across the state that have resulted from heavy rains and floods. A number of areas will be targeted due to extensive damage to the roads. In the greater Sydney area these include Hills Shire, Blacktown City, Northern Beaches, Wollondilly Shire, Penrith City and Hawkesbury. Other areas in the state to be targeted for road repairs include Lachlan Shire, Oberon, Blayney, Orange, Cabonne, Forbes, Parkes, Bathurst and Lithgow.
