The tender process for a major road maintenance package will be launched by Highways England shortly. The package of works will be for road maintenance in the West Midlands.
The deal will be worth £335 million and will be for a period of eight years. At the moment the contract is handled by Kier, which has had a three-year arrangement for the contract that it was awarded in 2018. Called Area 9, the contract covers road repairs and maintenance works for Shropshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
