A partnership between Mott MacDonald, Arcadis and CPCS will handle the role of consultant for the UK Department for Transport’s (DfT) new STARThree framework.

This innovative new framework will replace the existing Specialist Technical Advisory (STARTwo) framework, which enables access to high quality, professionally qualified and experienced specialist third party advisory support for a range of service requirements.

After each individually supporting the DfT over the past four years through the STARTwo framework, the three firms have joined forces to provide an even greater strength and depth of professional expertise, as the DfT looks to expand the range of work undertaken through STARThree.

Through the new four-year framework, the trio will work collectively to supply a range of services covering areas such as transport planning and strategy, transport operations advice, commercial advice, transport infrastructure advice and transport programme advice.

Damian Price, Mott MacDonald’s global practice leader for transport planning and DfT account lead said: “It’s more important than ever that we plan and invest in the right type of transport infrastructure and services to keep the UK on the move. This framework award recognises the broad experience, expertise and strategic skills our Partnership brings to this space, and we look forward to working with Arcadis, CPCS and the Department for Transport to help continue shaping the future of UK transport.”

Steve Cooper, senior technical director and STAR framework lead at Arcadis said: “We are excited to have secured a place on the STAR Three Framework alongside Mott MacDonald and CPCS. The quality of our people across all three companies combined with our inclusive approach to building collaborative relationships, will support the Department in addressing strategic challenges to improve connectivity, grow the economy, tackle climate change and enable social value.”

Steve Allen, vice president, Europe and UK for CPCS said: “We are delighted to be working with Mott Macdonald and Arcadis on this framework to support the Department of Transport’s delivery of improvements to the transport network.  We look forward to applying the depth of experience and knowledge of the transport system the partnership brings to meeting the DfT’s needs."
