1146 Balfour Beatty is now working on a seven year, €323.94 million (£245 million) highways maintenance contract in the UK. This package of works is for Coventry City Council, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council. There is an option to extend the contract for a further three years.

Balfour Beatty Living Places will work in partnership with the three Councils. This collaborative arrangement in the local authority highways market will provide a single source service provider across the three areas. The deal is said to provide better value for money, improved service resilience and flexibility in services.

Balfour Beatty has delivered Highways maintenance services across Warwickshire over the last five years. The firm’s directly employed workforce will deliver a variety of services to over 5000km of roads, winter maintenance across 2000km of roads and maintenance of over 55,000 street lights.

Balfour Beatty Living Places also recently secured an €72.86 million (£55 million), two year extension to its West Sussex highways works. The contract includes highways improvements such as resurfacing, safety fencing, footway, cycleway and carriageway reconstruction; highways maintenance including defect repair, grass cutting and reactive emergency response.
