Road works are planned in Vietnam for sections of the North-South Expressway project. Road works have also gained approval in Ho Chi Minh City.
The North-South Expressway represents a major project for Vietnam and will deliver improved transport and shorter journey times for the country. Around US$6.46 billion has already been targeted for works between 2026 and 2030 on the route. The financing for the project for the 2021-2025 period is estimated at $5.26 billion. However some of the necessary funding has yet to be secured. Work on the project has been split into 11 sections, with the funding model having been established for five of the sections.
Meawnhile, approval has now been given for work on a road in Ho Chi Minh City. The road will link Tran Quoc Hoan and Cong Hoa and is expected to cost $211 million to build. The route includes a flyover measuring nearly 1km in length as well as tunnel sections.
