Uzbekistan is to benefit from key road improvements that will boost transport and help develop the country’s economy. A budget of US$300 million has been set for the construction of three important road links.
Funding of over $274 million was provided recently by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to pay for upgrade work to a 240km road connecting Guzar with Buhara, Nukus and Beyneu. In addition, a loan worth $165.5 million was provided by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to pay for improvement works to the A380 and M37 routes in the Bukhara Region.
