Road improvement works will be carried out in Honduras, helped by a US$607 million loan. Being provided by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), the 20-year loan will pay for the construction of a new highway connecting La Ceiba and El Progreso.
Building the new highway will reduce journey times between the two cities. The port city of La Ceiba is in the north of the country and sits on the coast of the Caribbean Sea while El Progreso is in Western Honduras, close to the border with Guatemala.
