A US$498 million loan will help pay for works to key road links in Costa Rica. The funding package is being supplied by the Central American Bank of Economic Integration (CABEI) to Costa Rica’s National Road Council (CONAVI).
Work will be carried out to the Interamericana Norte, Route 1, for the section linking Barranca and Limonal. Other improvements will be carried out to the ring road around Lindora and pedestrian bridge that span Route 32.
Meanwhile, a new temporary bridge structure is being erected that will improve the traffic connection with Costa Rica’s Juan Santamaria Airport. The bridge should be ready for traffic in April 2024 and boost the connection to Route 1.
