Under the Applied Research Programme in High Volume Transport (HVT), the competition funds short projects for safer and more efficient transport within low-income countries in Africa and South Asia.
The programme is implemented by development and infrastructure agency IMC Worldwide, supported by the Knowledge Transfer Network – a UK agency for public-private networking - and funded by the UK government's
The competition provides funding up to €34,000 for 10 collaborative projects that address transport challenges in long distance strategic road and rail, urban transport, low carbon transport and gender, accessibility and inclusion - particularly the disabled – in HVT.
T-TRIID follows a similar model to the UK’s
The competition is open to all types of companies of any size, anywhere in the world,. However, the project must support one of the beneficiary countries, details of which can be found in the guidance notes. Collaboration across companies and from within beneficiary countries are encouraged and will gain extra credit during project assessment.
