Paraguay has increased on its road expansion works during 2020, compared with 2019. The Ministry of Public Works and Communications reports that a budget of US$800 million has been spent on road works, an increase of 17% over the budget spent during 2019.
A series of important highway projects have been carried out in 2020, as well as new bridge construction works that will provide improved international links to its neighbours.
Meanwhile, funding worth $235 million has now been secured from the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). This will be used to pay for maintenance and upgrade work on the Ruta de la Leche road in Central Chaco and in San Pedro.
