Myanmar bridge project underway

Construction work is now underway for the No3 Thanlyin Bridge in Myanmar. The project is costing US$300 million with the work being carried out by a group of Japanese firms. Funding for the project has been provided by a loan facility from Japan. The new bridge will measures 1,928m in length and is being built 125m from the existing No1 Thanlyin Bridge. Work is also underway on a new road connection linking the bridge with Thilawa. The road will feature two lanes in either direction and is due for completion by the end of 2019.
