A loan facility has been sourced that will help pay for the construction of a vital road link in Uzbekistan. The US$165.5 million loan is being provided by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
The funding will be used to carry out upgrade and maintenance work to a 78km stretch of road linking Guzar, Bukhara, Nukus and Beyneu. In all the work is expected to cost more than $201 million. The loan will be for a 30 years, with a five-year grace period.
