A land bridge mega project is being proposed that will improve transport connects for South East Asia. Financing for the proposed project is being sought by the Thailand Government.
The link could cost as much as US$29.35 billion to complete. The route would connect Ranong on the coast of the Andaman Sea with Chumphon in on the Gulf of Thailand.
Thailand’s Ministry of Transport has been holding a series of roadshows in China, the UK and the US, hoping to attract firms willing to invest in the project. The plans for the project are being considered by the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP).
