A €600 million funding package will help pay for the new Ploiesti-Pascani Motorway. This funding is being provided through the European Investment Bank (EIB). The 319km motorway will provide a better transport link between Romania and Moldova.
The new route will feature two lanes in either direction and is due for completion in 2025. The new A7 route will link Ploiești, Buzău, Focșani, Bacău and Pascani. The project forms part of the TEN-T Core network and will be built in four sections.
The stretches are the 63.25km section from Ploiești to Buzău, the 82.44km section linking Buzău and Focșani, the 95.9km stretch between Focșani and Bacău and the 77.4km stretch linking Bacău with Pașcani.
