Costa Rica spending on developing routes

The Costa Rican Government is setting out plans for a series of road repair and upgrade projects. Several key routes have been identified as being in major need of improvement works. These include roads linking the capital, San Jose, with Cartago, Limon, San Ramon and San Carlos. Some US$350 million will be used to carry out the road projects. In all the Costa Rican Government has set a budget of $4.6 billion for infrastructure works. Of this $20 million is being directed towards work on the San Carlos road

The Costa Rican Government is setting out plans for a series of road repair and upgrade projects. Several key routes have been identified as being in major need of improvement works. These include roads linking the capital, San Jose, with Cartago, Limon, San Ramon and San Carlos. Some US$350 million will be used to carry out the road projects. In all the Costa Rican Government has set a budget of $4.6 billion for infrastructure works. Of this $20 million is being directed towards work on the San Carlos road while $50 million will be used for the San Jose to Cartago road link, with $50 million each also being used for the San Jose to San Ramon and San Jose to Limon road works. The 2791 Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) is likely to provide a portion of the financing for the works. The Costa Rican Government is also using a $150 million loan to pay for 100 smaller road works across the country.
