The Costa Rican Government is setting out plans for a series of road repair and upgrade projects. Several key routes have been identified as being in major need of improvement works. These include roads linking the capital, San Jose, with Cartago, Limon, San Ramon and San Carlos. Some US$350 million will be used to carry out the road projects. In all the Costa Rican Government has set a budget of $4.6 billion for infrastructure works. Of this $20 million is being directed towards work on the San Carlos road while $50 million will be used for the San Jose to Cartago road link, with $50 million each also being used for the San Jose to San Ramon and San Jose to Limon road works.
