Colombia's national agency for infrastructure, Agencia Nacional de Infraestructura (ANI), has announced the second wave of 4G motorway projects made of nine projects that will require US$5.64 billion.
Four proposals were received for the first of these projects, the Puerta de Hierro-Palmar de Varela-Cruz del Vizo motorway, a 202km road will require around $470 million.
Last November3260 World Highways reported that a major programme of PPP road construction concession contracts is due for Colombia. It was given the go ahead by Colombia's National Council for Economic and Social Policy (Conpes).
The programme is for a second round of 4G highway concessions through PPPs, worth up to $16.5 billion in all, with 10 highway projects to be built. These are: the Autopista Mar 1; Autopista Mar 2; Neiva-Girardot; Villavicencio-Yopal; Rumichaca-Pasto; Puerta de Hierro-Palmar de Varela-Cruz del Viso; Santana-Mocoa-Neiva/Neiva-Campoalegre-Gigante-Garzon-San Juan de Villalobos-Mocoa-Santana; Santander de Quilichao-Popayan; Barrancabermeja-Bucaramanga; and Sisga-El Secreto.
