The Angolan Government is setting a budget for a key highway project intended to improve transport in the country. Some US$630 million will be used to widen and improve Angola’s National Road 230.
The work will also see 10 bridges being improved. In addition, five connecting roads will also be paved. The work will improve transport links between the capital, Luanda, and Malanje. At present the journey between the two takes around five hours and the road is in poor condition in many places. However the road works will help improve the route and cut journey times considerably.
