A one-eighth scale model of 1250 Astec's Six Pack portable asphalt facility and a full-size Double Barrel Green System will be on show at the 2009 Excon in India, when the company will take part with its agent/licensee, TIL of Kolkata, India.

Excon is being held in Bangalore from 25-29 November, when the model of the Six Pack will be shown to visitors. The Six Pack facility was introduced in the early 1980s as a truly portable facility available to hot mix asphalt producers, while the Astec Double Barrel Green system is said to allow producers to reduce fuel consumption, increase production, significantly reduce emissions and use a higher percentage of recycle by producing mix at a lower temperature.

Astec says it is a major break- through in the warm mix asphalt technology arena in the North American market, where the expectation is for warm mix to exceed hot mix production in three to five years.

Meanwhile, attendees at Astec's 2010 Advanced Customer Schools, which teach hands-on maintenance and advanced troubleshooting techniques, can choose to attend one of the four sessions: 4-7 January,
11-14 January, 25-28 January or 1-4 February.

Astec founder and CEO Dr J. Don Brock will deliver the opening presentation, and other instructors include Astec and 1251 Heatec engineers and service technicians.
