UK contractor FM Conway is making major moves to reduce its carbon emissions. The firm is now British Standards Institute (BSI) certified to PAS 2080:2030, the global standard for management and reduction of whole-life carbon in infrastructure and the built environment.
The stringent audit process highlighted FM Conway’s self-delivery model as a key contributor to intelligently designing out carbon, as well as its bespoke whole-life carbon assessment and reporting tool which contains over 15,000 materials and fuels – enabling carbon impact assessments to be provided for all works it delivers.
FM Conway Sustainability Director, Matt Tallon, said: “Collaboration and innovation across the infrastructure industry is essential to deliver net zero, and our PAS 2080 certification reflects our commitment to those values. Our clients have ambitious targets, and they need their partners to work with them to lead the change. We’ve long been a pioneer in highways recycling and we’re building on that experience to ensure we combine the right materials, construction methods, and technical expertise, to deliver maximum whole-life carbon savings –making these carbon goals a reality.”
