Cameroon is setting out plans to surface 6,000km of roads. The work forms part of the Cameroon Government’s National Development Strategy 2020-2030 (SND30).
Paving roads with asphalt will be costly and it is not clear as yet how the programme will be financed. But the work will boost connectivity, especially to rural areas and the underdeveloped north of the country. A consultancy process will be undergone with local firms in Cameroon before the first asphalt plant is purchased and before the tender processes are instigated.
