Caterpillar’s heavy-duty excavator can cope with tough conditions
Built as a heavy-duty machine, 178 Caterpillar’s 323F LN excavator is specially designed with reinforced structures and massive counterweights.

It can be used for severe applications and is equipped with heavy-duty booms and sticks made of high-strength steel and box section construction with internal baffies for added durability. The massive upper frame, car-body (lower frame), and track roller frames are designed for strength and long-term durability.

This F Series excavator is also said to deliver a 4% improvement in fuel efficiency from its 120kW Cat C4.4 diesel and meets EU Stage IV emissions standards. The machine weighs from 22-23.6tonnes and has a powerful hydraulic system as well as boom and stick regeneration circuits to reduce load on the main pumps. The 323F LN is available with two configurations for the front linkage: Reach and Variable Adjustable.

The cab has large glass areas for all-around visibility, a large colour monitor and safety features that include a cab-integrated roll-over-protection structure (ROPS). Cat Grade Control Depth and Slope is a standard factory-integrated system that allows operators to attain grades quickly and efficiently. It is also available with LINK technologies such as the optional Product Link system.
