233 Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) has announced a significant new addition to its popular Zaxis-3 range of excavators, the ZX14-3, highlighting a new level of performance.

Filling an important gap in the 1-2 tonne class, the new model has been developed to compete in the general construction sector and strengthens the Japanese manufacturer's position in the mini excavator market.

Basic and durable, the ZX14-3 is easy to operate, while its compact and lightweight design allows it to be transported by trailer and to work in confined spaces. Power comes from an economical and durable engine, a three-cylinder diesel delivering 10.7kW that complies with the Stage IIIA/Tier 3 emission regulations.

Features include a 22litre fuel tank, innovative hydraulics, responsive controls, precise operation and high efficiency and productivity. Comfortable and stable, the ZX14-3 also has low running and maintenance costs, a durable undercarriage and a strong front attachment.

Joep van den Maagdenberg, 1139 HCME Area Sales Representative said: "Hitachi mini excavators deliver a powerful package in terms of versatility and reliability. The ZX14-3 is positioned within a crucial class and has evolved from the existing Zaxis range.

"It has already been tested on a wide range of job sites with extremely positive results. So, we are confident that the enhanced performance of the ZX14-3 will be well received by our dealers and in the market as a whole."
