Scottish firm Land-Drill Geotechnics is now using four new 3773 Ingersoll Rand 17/235 portable compressors to provide compressed air for the company's fleet of drilling machines. Land-Drill is an independent, management-owned company, offering geotechnical and geo-environmental investigations, laboratory testing and advice to the construction industry. With the new 17/235 compressors supplied by 695 Doosan Infracore Portable Power, Land-Drill has added machines that are more compact than previous compressors used by the company, but provide a higher output in terms of volume and pressure. Powered by a 255kW 196 Cummins diesel, the 17/235 compressor provides a free air delivery of 23.5 m3/min at 17.2bars. The service areas on the 17/235 compressor have been designed to ease inspection, maintenance and repair duties with good access to air and oil filters and restriction indicators on the air filters. The 17/235 compressor incorporates direct engine control technology and an innovative microcontroller.
