A British company is looking to further increase its presence in the highways market following an agreement with a major US manufacturer of mobile traffic control message boards.
3377 ArcGen Hilta is one of the UK's leading suppliers of on site equipment, providing mobile generators, welders, lighting towers, messaging boards, water pumps and pressure washers to the rental, construction and other related markets.
It has now become the sole UK and Ireland distributor for3379 ADDCO products including the DS7 sign board used on motorways and the MAG (mini adjustable graphic) sign board used on major and secondary roads.
ArcGen Hilta was formed when ArcGen acquired water pump and pressure washer supplier Hilta TW last year, further broadening the company's product offerings. It has its headquarters in Wolverhampton, central England, and is part of Morris & Company, which was established in 1869 and which has its headquarters in Shrewsbury, County Shropshire, some 48km away.
Mark Hodgkins, chief executive of ArcGen Hilta, and finance director of Morris & Company, said: "Morris & Company acquired ArcGen in 2006 with an aim to develop the business by broadening its product portfolio. While it was a profitable business with a quality product we felt it would benefit from further product and marketing development. Both ArcGen and Hilta share a reputation for premium products and services and this is something that we will build on."
The new company again featured products at this year's SED Exhibition including the solar-powered ADDCO mobile messaging boards. It was sole supplier of lighting towers and messaging boards for the show.
"Prior to the ADDCO distributorship we had a lot of equipment used on highway infrastructure, so this is another piece of the jigsaw," said Hodgkins.
ADDCO mobile message signs also include three line, full matrix, character segmented, LED-DOT, ArrowBoard, MiniMatrix and truck-mount as well as BRICK LED displays which offer plug-and-play simplicity, superior legibility and low maintenance.
