UK awards $5 billion traffic management framework contract

Arup, in partnership with URS Scott Wilson, has been appointed to a new UK national government procurement service framework for traffic management technology research and consultancy services. The pan-government collaborative agreement, which will be available to all UK public sector bodies from next week, is expected to delivery up to US$5 billion of contracts during it four-year lifetime.

1419 Arup, in partnership with 2749 URS Global Scott Wilson, has been appointed to a new UK national government procurement service framework for traffic management technology research and consultancy services. The pan-government collaborative agreement, which will be available to all UK public sector bodies from next week, is expected to delivery up to US$5 billion of contracts during it four-year lifetime.

The Framework will make the public sector procurement process easier by providing instant access to approved suppliers at agreed rates. Public sector buyers will be able to purchase services ranging from street lighting services to traffic management research and consultancy. It is claimed it will also offer greater efficiency for public sector agencies to purchase traffic management technologies covering goods, services and solutions.

Arup, and partner URS Scott Wilson, will provide project planning, management, research and design services under Lot 8: Traffic Management Research and Consultancy. The team has established partnerships with over 20 specialised sub consultants, including academia, to provide a diverse and highly specialised range of services.
