Vietnam is planning new road links for Ho Ch Minh City. With a population close to 9 million, the city is the largest in Vietnam and is a hub for economic activity in the country. The plans call for six key projects to be carried out, with a total value of nearly US$1.2 billion.

The works would help improve transport links to and from the port city, allowing a further boost to economic activity. Two ring road sections for the city’s east side have been proposed. These would measure 2.2km and 2.9km in length, boosting transport in Ho Chi Minh City.

A 6.7km section of Vietnam’s North-South road is being planned. Two further ring road sections are being planned, measuring a total of 6km. A tunnel stretch, an overpass and three bridges will also have to be built. The works are being planned by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport.
