Construction work is now underway for key stretches of Vietnam’s crucial North-South Expressway project. The eastern stretch of the North-South Expressway includes 12 sub-projects, with nearly 724km of road to be built by 2025. Costing US$6.22 billion, the road sections will feature three lanes in either direction although the stretch between Can Tho and Ca Mau will feature two lanes in either direction.

In Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), work is starting on the project to construct Ring Road 3. The work is costing over $294 million and will connect HCMC with Long An Province, Binh Duong Province and Dong Nai Province. Land covering 34ha has now been handed over for clearance work to get underway.

Meanwhile, construction work is being carried out for the new Nguyen Hoang Bridge spanning the Huong River. This important bridge project is costing $97 million and the structure is being built from reinforced concrete and steel. The bridge will measure 590m while the connecting road being built as part of the project measures nearly 1.1km. A joint venture comprising Trung Chinh Trading and Construction Company Limited and Thua Thien Hue Road Management and Construction Joint Stock Company will carry out the work.
