Planning is underway for a US$1.54 billion mega bridge project that will span the Yangtze River in China. The new Anqing Haikou Yangtze River Public Railway Bridge will carry both road and rail links on two decks, with the project extending a total of 17.5km.

The upper deck will feature a highway with three lanes in either direction. The lower deck will feature a highway with two lanes in either direction as well as two railway lines in the central dividing area.

The project is being managed by the Anqing Municipal Public Resources Trading Supervision and Administration Bureau. The tender for the design of the bridge is opening, with bids to be submitted by 9th April 2024.
