Serbia is setting a transport infrastructure budget of €7.12 billion for the period from 2024-2027. This will account for 40% of the country’s €17.8 billion budget for the period. The works are being managed by the Serbian Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure. Maintenance of existing routes will also be carried out to help ensure more reliable travel.
By the end of 2024, the plan calls for an extension of the highway and trunk road network of 487km. At the end of 2025, the highway linking Šabac and Loznica should be ready for traffic and other new high speed routes due for completion in 2026 include roads connecting with Loznica and Karadjordje.
