A motorway revamp project in Saudi Arabia will see extensive works being carried out to Riyadh's Western Ring Road (WRR). The work will be carried out by Nesma & Partners and the contract is worth US$320 million.
The package of works was awarded by Diriyah Development Company. Two motorway bridges will be demolished and 1.5 million m3 of rock will have to be cut for the project. New tunnel stretches, on/off ramps and a bridge will be included in the work. Utilities will also have to be removed.
