A series of road improvement works will boost Uruguay’s network length and quality for 2023. The Ministry of Transport and Public Works has set a budget of US$900 million for the works. Maintenance will be carried out on key links, while a major project will be for the ring road joining Route 1 and Route 5. Widening work will be carried out for Route 5 while construction work for Route 6 will be completed.
When the current administration completes its term in office it aims to have spent $3.7 billion on road and bridge improvement works in total.
