New road connections will be built in Vietnam to the important Long Thanh International Airport, which is currently under construction. The tender process for the work is being handled by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).
The plan calls for two new roads to be built, with the work expected to cost around US$108 million. Construction work for the airport commenced in 2021 with the first phase due for completion in 2025, when it is expected to open for commercial flights. The airport project is being handled in three phases.
Located around 40km from Ho Chi Minh City in Dong Nai Province, the new airport will take over from the existing Tan Son Nhat International Airport, which has reached its capacity and cannot be expanded further.
