A new road project is planned for the Republic of Tatarstan, one of the republics of Russia to the east of Moscow. The work will see Phase II of the M7 highway being constructed. This stretch will run around Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnye Chelny.
The 81km highway stretch poses a number of technical challenges, with a bridge spanning the Kama River being the largest civil structure for the route.
The project will help improve transport in Russia, providing a faster and safer highway connection and with greater capacity than before.
