Work is now underway on an important road project for Côte d'Ivoire. Costing some US$93 million, East Abidjan exit roadway will improve transport for the country’s capital city.
The project forms a part of the wider plan to improve urban transport in and around Abidjan. Financing is being supplied jointly the country’s government and by the African Development Bank (AfDB).
Building the route will take around 17 months and the project is expected to improve traffic flow and journey times to and from Abidjan. The new tolled expressway being built will feature three lanes in either direction.
