A major expressway concession package has been agreed for India’s Uttar Pradesh State. The deal is worth US$883.4 million.

Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has agreed the concession deal with Meerut Budaun Expressway. The arrangement for the Ganga Expressway route is for a stretch measuring 130km in length.

The expressway link will provide improved transport connections for Uttar Pradesh State. The deal forms part of India's road development programme.

Meanwhile, the tender process is being planned for a proposed $162 million project to widen and upgrade a 31km stretch of road connecting Hubballi and Dharwad in Karnataka State. The road features just one lane in either direction at present, but the proposals are for the route to be widened so that it features three lanes in either direction.

The tender process for the Hubballi to Dharwad road upgrade will be handled by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The deal is being proposed with a five-year construction and maintenance package.
