Colombia’s Transversal del Sisga road project is well underway at present. The 137km highway project is due for completion by December 2021.
The Transversal del Sisga road project is one of the Colombian Government’s 20 fourth generation (4G) projects due for completion before the end of its term. The programme of works is intended to boost Colombia's transport sector and will deliver a major economic plus for the country also. New road building as well as maintenance form part of the plan.
Meanwhile, work is well underway for the US$453.8 million project to construct the 254km highway linking Necocli with Canasgordas. The highway is due for completion in H2 2022 and has presented a number of challenges during its construction. The project is complex due to the topography and geology along the alignment, featuring 15 tunnel sections as well as 63 bridges.
