Work is starting in China on a massive road tunnel project in Jiangsu Province. The work will see the construction of a 10.8km long tunnel running underneath Taihu Lake. The new tunnel will provide a key link in the Wuxi-Changzhou Expressway. The design calls for a 43.6m wide tunnel. Once complete the tunnel will be both the widest and longest underwater tunnel in China.
