Plans are being drawn up for a new underwater tunnel for Brazil’s port of Santos. Located in Sao Paulo State, the Santos-Guaruja underwater tunnel is expected to cost over US$990 million to build.
Construction should commence in 2024 and take 24 months to complete. The tunnel will be tolled and is likely to measure 1.7km in length, with three lanes of traffic in either direction, reaching a depth of 35m.
