India’s US$6.9 billion Balavali-Navghar highway project is now open for bids. The project will be split into several stages and will help to improve traffic around Mumbai. The route will feature four lanes in either direction while there will also be provision for rail traffic as well as a BRT system.
The project is being managed by India's Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Limited (MSRDC), which is also handling the tender process. The 126km route will be the latest project intended to improve transport for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, further helping to boost India's economic powerhouse.
