1090 Sokkia is upgrading its automatic level line-up with the new B series automatic levels, the B20, B30 and B40. This new series offers greater durability and replaces the previous line-up of the B and C series. The firm says that the new B series automatic levels offer greater reliability in all working conditions. The water protection rating of the B series models has been increased, while the tough and compact bodies are fully resistant to driving rain and splashing water from all directions according to the firm. Sophisticated protection technology is also said to prevent the telescope from fogging or condensing but without using nitrogen gas. The new telescope is said to offer a bright and sharp view that reduces operator eye strain, while a short focus distance of 200mm is of benefit for use in confined locations.

Sokkia says that the B series levels incorporate a precise and reliable compensator, with four super-high-tensile suspension wires and a magnetic damping system to ensure accuracy and stability even when exposed to temperature changes, vibrations or shock. Overall the new B series levels are said to deliver quick set-up, easy sighting and high durability against weather, vibration and shock, ensuring the increased productivity over an extra-long period of time. The product line-up includes the B20 with 32x magnification and 0.7mm accuracy; the B30 with 28x magnification and 1.5mm accuracy; the B40 with 24x magnification and 2.0mm accuracy. Various options are offered including a diagonal eyepiece, a 40x eyepiece for B20 and an optical micrometer for B20.
