Leoš Tymel from Ammann commented, “It’s designed for productivity and serviceability. The machine has been designed around the cab. We aim to provide the best working environment.”

Most of the controls are on the touchscreen, while there are intelligent controls on the joystick and the number of switches has been minimised to help make the machine simpler to operate. A key feature is the 900litre water tank, said to be the biggest in its class although the machine is compact in size given its performance.

As standard, the machine comes with dual amplitudes and multiple frequencies, allowing the machine to adapt performance for a range of surfaces. Tymel commented, “For thin layer wearing courses, it helps to be on the safe side so as not to break the stone.”

The machine has 1.5m-wide split drums, although a wide offset allows for a maximum compaction width of 2.72m. Other features include the ACE force compaction control system to optimise working and record job data as well as the Servicelink package, which helps ensure maximum uptime. The ACE force system also stores location, providing, “…a cost-efficient solution providing reporting for single machines,” according to Tymel.
