Japanese company, 7102 Tadano, which specialises in the development and production of hydraulic mobile cranes and hoisting equipment, will launch two products.

The company, founded in 1948 with its headquarters in Takamatsu, has its main production activities take place at five sites (three in Japan; one in the USA, and one in Germany since 1990 through Tadano Faun). Tadano acquired the German company Faun in 1990.

Tadano Faun represents the centre of excellence for the Tadano Group in with all Tadano all-terrain cranes developed and produced in its factory in Lauf an der Pegnitz near Nuremberg. They are distributed throughout the world via Tadano’s global distribution and service network.

The group’s truck-mounted cranes are also developed and produced at the site, while its rough-terrain cranes are produced exclusively by the holding company in Japan. At bauma China, the Tadano Group, Tadano Limited and Tadano (Beijing) will hold a joint exhibition when the roughterrain GR-800EX crane and GT- 350E truck-mounted crane will be launched, and will be joined by other models from the group.

The GR-800EX weighs in at 80tonnes and has a five-section boom, and it has an overall length of some14.375m overall width of 3.315m and overall height of 3.795m.
According to the company, the five-section full power partially synchronised telescoping boom is of round box construction with six sheaves at boom head. The synchronisation system consists of two telescope cylinders, extension cables and retraction cables with hydraulic cylinders fitted with holding valves.

Its fully retracted length is 12m and its fully extended length is 47m with an extension speed 35m in 160seconds. Crane control is by four control levers for swing, boom hoist, main winch, boom telescoping or auxiliary winch with two control pedals for boom hoist and boom telescoping based on ISO standard layout.

The control lever stands can change neutral positions and tilt for easy access to the cab. Indeed, Tadano says that both crane and drive operations can be performed from one cab mounted on a rotating superstructure. It is one-sided, one-man type, steel construction with sliding door access and tinted safety glass windows, which open at the side.

The operator seat is a three-way adjustable seat with headrest and armrest. According to Tadano specifications, the GT-350E truck-mounted crane weighs in at 35tonnes and has an overall length of 12.77m, overall width of 2.49m and an overall height of 3,57m.

With a maximum travel speed of 74km/hour, the crane’s four-section full power partially synchronised telescoping boom is of a hexagonal box construction. Fully retracted it is 10.6m long and fully extended the length is 34m. Extension speed is 23.4m in 127 seconds.
