RSSAMG has developed a sophisticated single channel transmitter that is said to be the smallest of its type available so far. Compact and powerful, the Vision 5000 unit is a mini transmitter that offers high resolution video at 728 TV lines. The transmitter measures a mere 55 x 55 x 26mm and weighs only 150ggrammes, while offering transmission distances in excess of 7km on multimode fibre (Vision 5600) and more than 40km with the Vision 5700 singlemode version. Other features include transmission of up to five low speed data/audio channels and up to 18 uni-directional or nine bi-directional contact closures, alongside uncompressed video, on a single fibre core. Highly sophisticated, this single channel transmission system provides high quality, low cost transmission of uncompressed video signals in full bandwidth to ensure optimum performance regardless of distance. The dual redundancy system does not use mechanical switches or couplers, and both transmission paths are continuously monitored. Mini, stand alone and rack mount formats are available for minimum space usage along with multiple data options via auxiliary data channels, AC or DC supply and a high mean time to failure of over 250,000 hours, while the unit is suitable for extreme temperature environments of -40 to +74°C.
