Tenders are opening in India for five key highway projects worth a total of US$1.48 billion.

Tenders are opening in India for five key highway projects worth a total of US$1.48 billion. The projects include widening the Iccahapuram-Srikakulam-Anandpuram highway in Andhra Pradesh to six-lanes and upgrading the 223km Jabalpur-Katni-Rewa highway to four-lanes. Both the lane-widening projects are on build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis. The upgrade of a 151km stretch of a highway running from the border of Orissa to Aurang and Chhattisgarh will be carried out on a build, design, finance and operate (DBFOT) basis. Meanwhile, upgrading a highway stretch from Obedullanganj-Budhni-Betul to four lanes will also be carried out on a BOT basis. The Meerut to Bulandshahar section of highway will also be widened to four lanes.
